Cyber and technology programmes, delivered end to end

Senior programme management for global organisations: NIS2 compliance, Darktrace deployments, IoT and identity security, Azure cloud, and enterprise-wide risk reduction. Multi-stream, multi-region, budgets to $12 million.

About me

IT Project & Programme Manager. Cyber security, cloud and enterprise digital transformation for global blue-chip organisations.

René Ahuja

Nearly twenty years of programme delivery, most of it inside global blue-chip organisations — Siemens and Wilkinson on contract early on, then eleven years at Shell, then Ayvens, now Barentz. The work sits where security, infrastructure and business change meet: the programmes that are technically demanding and politically sensitive at the same time, and that fail on the second count more often than the first.

What I bring is the join between the two. Enough technical understanding to hold a real conversation with architects and DevOps engineers, and enough governance discipline that the plan survives contact with an auditor. Secure by design, delivered on the date agreed, and handed to a business that can actually run it afterwards.

The coaching practice is not a side interest. Seventeen years of career and transformation coaching taught me how attachment patterns drive behaviour under pressure — over-functioning, avoidance, people-pleasing, role fusion. Those same patterns are what stall a programme when a steering group will not decide, or a stream lead quietly absorbs work that belongs elsewhere. Reading that accurately is a delivery skill, not a soft one.

Skills

Large, multi-stream cyber and technology initiatives that strengthen resilience, modernise security posture, and embed secure-by-design practice across infrastructure, cloud and digital platforms.

Regulatory compliance

NIS2 programmes, information security policy, audit readiness and GDPR alignment across EMEA, NAM and APAC.

Threat detection

Darktrace deployment, endpoint and network security, vulnerability management, and IoT security across operational estates.

Identity & access

Privileged identity management, access governance, and cryptography workstreams delivered alongside BAU operations.

Cloud & infrastructure

Azure Landing Zones, Microsoft 365 estates, Windows 11 rollouts and Red Hat Linux platforms — planned, built and transitioned into service.

Risk & resilience

Archer controls, third-party risk management, business continuity, and IRM control requirements built into process rather than bolted on.

Data, ERP & analytics

Power BI analytics, EDI supply chain and Dynamics 365 F&O delivery, with automation used to strip out manual intervention.

Organisations and platforms worked with: Shell, LeasePlan, Sony, Thomson Reuters, Sainsbury's, WHSmith, Accenture, Capgemini, CGI, Computacenter, CSC, Microsoft Azure

Worked with

Organisations and platforms from nearly twenty years of programme delivery.

How the work runs

I partner directly with CISO, CTO, CIO and CFO stakeholders, and I run delivery through Agile and DevOps with governance that stands up to audit. Technical understanding on one side, disciplined control on the other — scope, budget and dates held together.

Service transition matters as much as the build. Operational readiness, post-implementation measures and supportability are agreed before any go/no-go, so new services land in a business that can actually run them.

Complex vendor landscapes are the norm rather than the exception. I coordinate internal teams and third parties together, holding each to the same delivery plan.

Partners managed across recent programmes include EY, KPMG, Microsoft, Cisco, Avanade, Accenture, DXC, ServiceNow, Wipro, TCS, CGI, NorthWave, Hoxhunt, Noesis and Descartes.

Experience

The coaching practice

Running in parallel since 2007 as Career Apple: career strategy and transformation coaching for mid-career and senior professionals across the Netherlands and Europe.

The approach combines corporate attachment theory with personal transformation coaching. Attachment patterns shape workplace behaviour, leadership presence, conflict responses and professional relationships — and naming tendencies such as over-functioning, avoidance, people-pleasing or role fusion lets people engage with teams and structures far more deliberately.

Alongside that sits identity-level work: rebuilding confidence, clarifying the story someone tells about themselves, and moving from instability or stagnation toward grounded self-leadership. Consultations are free, structures are transparent, and outcomes are measurable.

  • Strategic CV and profile assessment

Market alignment reviewed alongside the attachment-driven patterns showing up in how you communicate.

  • Career transformation programme

For people changing field: certification pathways, real project experience and identity reconstruction together.

  • Career progression programme

Building leadership presence and readiness for the next role up.
