Privacy notice

This page explains what happens to information you send through this website. It is deliberately short, because the site collects very little.
What is collected
Only what you type into the contact form: your name, email address, organisation if you choose to give one, the subject you select, your message, and any file you choose to attach. Nothing else is gathered — there are no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no cookies set by this site.
The web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses. That is a function of the hosting, not of anything this site adds. Your IP address is also included in the enquiry email so that abuse of the form can be traced.
Why, and on what basis
Your details are used for one purpose: replying to your enquiry and any conversation that follows from it. The legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the box on the form, and the legitimate interest in responding to someone who has asked to be contacted.
Where it goes
The form sends an email to a single mailbox. Your message is not added to a mailing list, not sold, and not shared with third parties. The hosting provider and the email provider process the message in transit, as they would any email.
An attached file is passed straight into that email. It is not saved on the web server, and it is kept only as part of the email, under the retention period below.
How long it is kept
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as the conversation is live, and deleted within twelve months if nothing comes of it. Server access logs are kept according to the hosting provider's own retention period.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. You can also withdraw consent at any time. Email the address below and it will be dealt with within one month. If you are unhappy with the response, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
Fonts
Typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and Google sees your IP address as part of that request. If you would rather that did not happen, a browser extension that blocks third-party requests will stop it; the site remains fully readable.
